This policy covers marbl.codes and the services we provide. We are the controller of the personal information described here.

What we collect

• When you contact us. If you use our contact form or email us, we receive your name, email address, the name of your business if you give it, and your message. The form also records which page you came from, so we understand what you were reading.
• When you work with us. Contact and billing details, and the information needed to deliver the work you have asked for.
• When you subscribe to updates. If you sign up for news on a Marbl site, your email address and which list you joined. We only add you after you confirm by email.
• Technical data. Our hosting provider processes your IP address and basic browser information to deliver the website and protect it from attacks. We count visits with Fathom Analytics, a privacy-first service that uses no cookies and keeps no personal data. We do not use advertising tracking on marbl.codes today; if we add it, it will only run with your consent, as our cookie policy explains.

How we use it, and why we are allowed to

• To reply to your enquiry. Our lawful basis is legitimate interests, and taking steps at your request before entering into a contract.
• To deliver work we have agreed. Our lawful basis is contract.
• To send updates you asked for. Our lawful basis is consent, which you can withdraw at any time using the link in every email.
• To keep accounts and meet our legal obligations. Our lawful basis is legal obligation.
• To keep the website secure. Our lawful basis is legitimate interests.

We never sell your information and never pass it to anyone for their own marketing.

Who processes it for us

We use a small number of trusted providers who process information on our behalf, under contracts that require them to protect it:

• Cloudflare hosts and protects this website.
• Resend delivers the messages sent through our contact form to our inbox, and our update emails.
• Our email and office software provider stores the emails we send and receive.
• AI tools. Our AI colleague, Serene [AI], is built on Claude by Anthropic and helps us draft replies and manage our work. A person reviews anything sent to you.

Some of these providers may process information outside the UK. Where they do, the transfer is protected by the safeguards UK data protection law requires, such as the International Data Transfer Agreement or an adequacy decision.

How long we keep it

• Enquiries that do not lead to work: up to two years, then deleted.
• Client records: for the length of our work together and six years afterwards, as required for accounting and tax.
• Update subscriptions: until you unsubscribe.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law you have the right to ask for a copy of your information, to have it corrected or deleted, to restrict or object to how we use it, to have it transferred, and to withdraw consent at any time. Email hello@marbl.codes and we will respond within one month.

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, please tell us first so we can put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.

Children

Our website and services are for businesses and are not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 16.

Changes to this policy

We update this policy when our practices change. The date at the top shows when it last changed.
