Built with care, on purpose
We are a small studio in Northamptonshire that designs, builds and looks after websites for people who would rather not think about them. This page is what we believe, who we are not, and the principles we hold ourselves to.

Three things, and we mean them
Plain numbers
One price, written down, that means what it says. Hosting on its own line. No surprise invoice, no "premium" tier that unlocks what should have been there.
Yours, properly
We design from a blank page and write the code ourselves, so what you get is yours: the design, the files, the domain, the data. If you ever leave, you take it with you.
Our industry nemesis
Who we are not
There is a kind of “web designer” who cannot design or build a website. They buy a $69 theme, change the logo, and call it yours. We are always the first to say we may not be the cheapest. This is why.
The $69 theme
Bought once, sold to you as bespoke. Ten thousand other sites are running the same one, and the person who sold it cannot change it, because they did not build it.
The bloat
Forty plugins doing the job of four, a page builder on top, and a home page that takes seconds to arrive. Speed is not a setting you switch on afterwards.
The adverts
Banners for the theme, banners for the builder, "powered by" in the footer. Someone else’s marketing on your site, paid for by you.
The silence
Six months on, a plugin update breaks the checkout and the number on the invoice no longer answers. Nobody planned to look after it, because looking after it was never the product.
What we do instead is on the pricing and in every client story: a blank page, our own code, our own hosting, and a person who answers.
The forest
Our Ecologi pledge
We plant trees with every client, every month, through Ecologi. Not as an offset for something we feel bad about: the sites we build are light, and we host them on infrastructure that runs clean. It is simply a habit we decided to keep.

Not separate
We are not separate from the people we build for. A site that works for you works for us; a corner cut on your site is a corner cut on ours. We treat every project as a partnership, not a hand-off.

Do no harm
No dark patterns, no manipulation, no tricks to make people click. Accessibility as standard. Safety guardrails on by default in everything we build with AI, and on things that matter to children, absolutely.

Never a yes-man
If an idea will hurt the site, we say so, before we build it. Agreeing is not the same as understanding. You are paying for our judgement, not our compliance.
- 04
A human decides
Serene [AI] drafts, checks and looks after the routine. Richard decides. Nothing outward-facing leaves without a person having read it. That is the arrangement, and it is written down.

Small, reversible steps
The smallest version that proves the idea, shipped, measured, then grown. Backups before changes, staging before live. Boring is a compliment in this business.
